My art is a kind of story telling, a little bit of therapy and a definite escape from the everyday stuff. Exhale moments… Just happy colours and a joyful interpretation of my landscape and environment. I’ve been creative since I was a kid and also studied a Bachelor of Design and Communication and a Diploma of Education. I paint from my small home studio in Buderim QLD. My prints are based on artworks I make about living on the stunning Sunshine Coast in Queensland, where we have a fabulous mix of beaches, hinterland ranges and rainforests. Enjoy.
Sharon Hegarty Art
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I remember. I worked in London & Sydney for major packaging companies as a graphic designer. We moved to the Sunshine Coast and started a family, that’s when I realised with no family here I needed to work for myself. To be perfectly honest I winged it! I Illustrated several simple children’s books. Hand painted fabrics, I was a colour consultant & stylist and I realised there was a need for affordable original artworks. Painting & creating is my absolute passion. When I paint I have no concept of time, I'm lost within it... And I love that!
Carys Martin Ceramics
Inspiration is drawn from the natural environment, ancient artefacts and cultures, along with the myriad options for surface design and finish. Carys has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in UK, USA and Australia and has taught Art classes in Uk and Australia. Carys originally trained as a printmaker and this often shows through in the detail of the surface decoration. She is drawn to contrasts and moments in time where different cultures overlap. You will find raw clay surfaces contrasting with a shiny, smooth glaze finish or highly decorated surfaces alongside negative space. The inspiration behind many of her pieces stem from growing up in a remote Cumbrian hamlet, where relics, stories and folklore were commonplace.
I have been working as an artist for over 30 years and my inspiration for my work reflects the celebration of everyday life. I attempt to capture moments in time, to tell a story that perhaps would otherwise be missed or go untold. My grandchildren and my travels have inspired me to create some of the pieces you will discover on my site. Whether you are an artist or an art lover thank you for coming on this journey with me…
Sally Thomson is an artist who spent her childhood in the beautiful farmland of the Strathbogie Ranges, Australia. As a young child she shared the love of drawing with her father when she wasn't riding horses and helping with the farm. Pastels are Sally's preferred medium as they bring out the true qualities of her subjects, reflecting their characters in a timeless manner that only pastels are famous for. Pet portrait commissions are popular, delighting her clients with vibrant representations of their beloved subjects. Sally's landscapes and Seascapes are lively , colourful and at times moody, expressing and sharing her emotional response to our world and the life it sustains. Oils are a new and exciting medium that Sally has started exploring with her plein air work. She would love to share this new journey with you stay tuned.
After retiring from New Zealand to Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia – Barry took up watercolour painting in 2002 under the expert eye and guidance of the late Brian Allison. A background of Architectural Draughting and building provided a natural foundation for this pursuit, however his passion to excel is tested continuously by the intricacies of this difficult medium. As a regular traveler internationally, as well as throughout Australia, Barry’s paintings cover most subjects, reflecting the dramatic and varied landscapes and lifestyles of many of these countries.
