COOKIES, CLASSES AND CHRISTMAS: OUR DECEMBER WORKSHOPS
Sunshine Coast Art & Framing are excited to announce our December workshops, helping our community get into the festive spirit with Christmas cookies and gingerbread house decorating.
These fun, creatively engaging classes will be held at our Sunshine Coast Art & Framing Gallery Cafe in Minyama. Join Renee from Daisy Cakes and Bakes for two fun-filled hours of decorating cookies or a gingerbread house.
These workshops are for adult beginners looking for a festive way to channel their creativity. You can bring a friend or two, bring a group or bring yourself.
Here are our Christmas baking decorating workshops.
CHRISTMAS COOKIE DECORATING FOR ADULT BEGINNERS
In this workshop, Renee will guide you through beginner-level cookie decorating techniques and introduce you to this addictive edible art. Renee makes hundreds of cookies weekly and has won multiple awards for her sugar craft, so she is well-placed to take you through decorating your cookies.
You’ll learn several icing techniques and create a set of royal iced cookies to be proud of! No previous experience is necessary as it is a beginner-level class designed for those who want to learn a new skill or have some foodie fun.
The class includes:
- Guided instruction by an industry professional
- Use of all equipment and tools
- Sprinkles, sugar transfers and icing bags
- Pre-baked vanilla sugar cookies
- A box to take your cookies home
- Sugar cookie and royal icing recipes
- A cold drink from the Gallery Café
- Discounted additional take-home kits
When: Saturday, 2 December at 3-5 pm AND Wednesday, 6 December, 6-8 pm.
**The café will be closed for service. Your ticket includes a cold drink from the café, or you’re welcome to bring along your drink of choice.**
This is an adult beginner class (18+ years for insurance purposes).
GINGERBREAD HOUSE DECORATING FOR ADULT BEGINNERS
For this workshop, Renee will guide you through some royal icing decorating techniques, and you’ll learn how to prevent your gingerbread house from collapsing (we’ve all been there)!
While your gingerbread house will be assembled and ready for decoration for your class, you will learn how to construct your own house. Renee has made thousands of gingerbread houses in her baking career and won multiple awards for her sugar craft. You will be in good hands guided through this fun workshop.
This class includes:
- Guided instruction by an industry professional
- All equipment and edibles
- A pre-baked and assembled gingerbread house, ready to decorate
- Ready to pipe icing bags
- Sprinkles and sugar transfer & all the lollies
- A box to take your gingerbread house home in
- Gingerbread royal icing recipes
- Discounted additional take-home kit
- A cold drink from the Gallery Café
When: Wednesday 6 December at 6-8 pm AND Saturday 16 December at 3-5 pm.
